bold new years resolutions

As we ring in the new year, many of us will dust off our unfulfilled 2022 self-improvement plans and vow that next year will be different. Well, at Sacred Child Beauty, we’re optimistic that 2023 will be different because we believe self-care is the key to manifesting your dream life. That’s why this year’s theme is BOLD. Whether it relates to your relationships, personality, or appearance, we’re encouraging you to boldly choose only what enriches you while batting away anything that holds you back…in all aspects of your life. With that in mind, here are a few resolutions to empower you as you put your best and boldest foot forward in 2023!

New Year's Resolutions for Self-Improvement

Invest in yourself

Investing in yourself is an important way to stay energized and ensure your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met. One way to do this is to designate a portion of your budget to things that bring you happiness. Whether that be a monthly spa treatment, a much-needed vacation, or a new outfit, nothing is off-limits. It’s simply about finding what lights a fire inside you and igniting that spark.

How to:

Ever heard of the 50/30/20 rule? Experts say you should divide your monthly income into three categories: 50% for needs, 30% for wants, and 20% for savings. When creating your budget, designate a category for self-care under “wants” and set aside money for your monthly treatments. A few dollars spent wisely can leave you feeling like a million bucks!

Let go of what no longer serves you

Letting go is one of the hardest things to do in life, especially of things we love. Everyone has something they cling to relentlessly. For some, it may be a person, a position or just plain stuff. For others it may be a substance they can’t shake. This is the time to evaluate your life and decide what enhances and what detracts. Perhaps you’re unhappy at your job; start searching for a new one. Maybe you’ve been trying to quit smoking for years; why not try to kick the habit today? Toxic friends? Show them the door! Who and what surrounds you are what make you.

How to:

Draw a circle with three rings. The first ring represents the people in your life who are nearest and dearest to your heart and have the most positive impact. This is your inner core, most likely your closest friends and family. The second ring represents more casual relationships, and the third ring represents mere acquaintances. Now start filling each circle with names. Be discerning and continually reevaluate the relationships and the impact these people have on your life. Make sure only the most deserving end up in your inner circle, otherwise your life can turn into a three ring circus.

Take chances

Chance/change new years resolution

You must take a chance to make a change. Never be afraid of the response you might get because some of the best things in life come from taking risks. If there’s a skill you’ve always wanted to accomplish or a business you want to start, the first step is to go for it. Ghandi said it best: “If you don’t ask, you don’t get.”

How to:

Affirmations are positive statements you make in order to shift negative thinking and improve self-esteem. Think of something you’ve always wanted to accomplish. Now ask yourself: what’s holding you back? Weigh the pros and cons, the risks vs the rewards. Let go of the fear of failure and make daily affirmations to remind yourself of your worth. “I am capable. I am worthy. I am enough.”

No matter what you do, do it boldly. Sacred Child Beauty is all about living as your most authentic self and choosing the things in life that feed your soul. Join us in our pursuit of inner and outer beauty for all.
